Wondervibes travels Tinpiple – Tarkeshwar – Army camp – Gurje Bhanjyang – Jhor.
Do you know ?? There are some stairs made of bricks exported from Heaven. Yes, I’m talking about the place we’ve been for our Hike in the hill of Kathmandu District. It was an amazing and natural hike with the team of Wondervibes along Tinpiple – Tarkeshwar – Army camp – Gurje Bhanjyang – Jhor.
Traveling teaches us about the world , life and ourselves than any education ever could. We learnd the team work during this hike. Everybody is never together during the walk but there comes some special place or point where we wait for others to come and join to capture the magical moment of that place. This also becomes that place where we share what we see and how we feel. Some of ‘what we see and what we feel’ are in this blog.
Our hike started from Machhapokhari, Kathmandu. There was a walk for a while up to ‘Tinpiple’ where we discussed the trip with the plan maker Asim Ojha. The group of 10 Wondervibes made a decision and continued our journey. Our main aim was to walk along the forests of Shivapuri National Park and end it to Jhor. Firstly moving to Tinpiple was not that good. All because of dusty road and strong sunlight. We’re just eager to reach the forest area and make some affairs with peaceful environment. There is no chance of stopping anywhere except some special places before reaching the forest. There are very beautiful temples nearly 500m uphill from Tinpple on the way to Tarkeshwar Temple also the Kathmandu vally can be observed from this temple.

The view of the valley and delighting temples enchanted to move forward and see more. Moving uphill we saw the clouds covering the green hills which was extremely beautiful. We just wanted to fly there and feel the moment. We headed forward with some adventures, Some enjoyment and some funny talks. We are heading forward through the way inside the pine forest. Red forest because of pine needles and the stem of pine tree on the ground. A travel inside the pine forest was relish. That relish inside the light coniferous forest in which pine is the predominant tree. We were trying to reach Kakani and return back by the same route upto the army camp. But we changed our decision and moved to another way towards Gurje Bhanjyang.

Army camp to Gurje Bhanjyang was a little different task as it started raining and struggle with leach was hilariously astounding. There is a saying by Albert Einstein ‘Look deep into nature, and then you will understand everything better’. We were getting deep inside the nature : the green forest , raining, walking on a wet and slippery soil, fighting with leach , listening to river flow , hearing the chattering of leaves.

We missed Surya Chaur as we had no time.

Nearly half an hour moving downward from Gurje Bhanjyang we came to the destination ‘Jhor’. Jhor is a historical and religious place where the powerful god of Hinduism lord Shiva is celebrated as ‘Baruneshwar Mahadev’. Many devotees come and worship here. A cave inside which there are three statues which are worshipped for their own purpose. Jhor is known for the beautiful waterfall during rainy season. But we were here in the off season. Though we enjoyed the nature and the greenery that surrounds Jhor. Here people come with families and friends to pass their days with fun and enjoyment. Here, we observed the beauty of Jhor and got ready for the farewell of this hike.
There is a river which we can not cross and that is nature. We can never finish exploring , enjoying , and feeling nature. Hope the following river never stops and the greenery never fades. Nepal has enormous natural beauties and we can explore easily. The team of wondervibes is not going to stop. We will explore the best we can. This is our journey of exploring the naturally prosperous Nepal.

As we go for hike every Saturday, Team Wondervibes and three more members met at Koteshwor at 8:00 AM in the morning on 29 May 2017. After that, we took a bus and rode to Suryabinayak as we had planned to start our hike from there and end by Lamatar, Lalitpur. After reaching Suryabinayak, We cross the Arniko highway and headed towards Pilot Baba Ashram.

We bought some foods and mineral water at Suryabinayak. The way to The Pilot Baba Ashram from Suryabinayek is about 3.5 KM with very beautiful blacktopped road inside the dense forest. After walking about 45 minutes we reached at the point where the way to Ranikot and Pilot Baba Ahram got separated. Then after walking about 500 m right from the road, we reached Pilot Baba Ashram. After reaching there we went to backside of the ashram where was a beautiful green ground and had some foods enjoying the panoramic view of Kathmandu Valley.

After resting for a while we headed towards Ranikot. Then about after 30 minutes of walking we reached at Ghyampe Dada where the blacktopped road ended continued with small gravel road. After 45 minutes we reached at Ranikot which is 3.2 KM away from Pilot Baba. Ranikot is a small village, where few houses and resorts were under construction. After that, we turned right and headed towards Lakuri Bhanjyang on the way there was a temple of Bagh Bhairav on the slope at upper side of the road. After walking around 45 minutes, we reached at the small saddle, surrounded by forest with a muddy football ground. We took some rest and shared out remaining foods and had some fun my taking photos. We also found small bushes of Mulberry on the way then we headed towards Lakuri Bhanjyang. After 10 minutes of walk we reached at our final destination. Lakuri bhanjyang is a small and beautiful village surrounded by dense forest with several houses. There was a flat grass surface where was not much people but it might be good place for picnic. From the ground we were seeing the view of Kathmandu Valley and Mountain Range.

After taking some rest and taking some photos we headed towards Lamatar, from where we were able to take bus to Kathmandu. The way to Lamatar was vehicle road which was 5.5 KM but after walking some distance we left the road and took shortcuts through forest which was bit slippery but it saved our time and made more adventurous. The shortcut intersect the main road many times but we didn't took the main road until we reached Lamatar.

One day hiking to Jamacho

Nepal, the name everybody in the world remember for its Natural beauty, culture, rituals and biodiversity. It can be a best option for those who wants to explore the nature as it is very rich in natural resources within the length of 800 KM and breadth of  192 KM. Nepal covers 0.03% of land surface in world map but it consists of the lowlands starting from east to highest mountains up to the north. The elevation  increases from 52m to 8,848m which can be good subject to explorer. Nepal is paradise as many tourist said after traveling Nepal.
Kathmandu, the capital city of Nepal is rich in culture heritage, civilization and beautiful surrounding hills are not less rich than the valley itself.  There are many beautiful high hills around Kathmandu Valley, which contain numerous amount of Temples, Gumbas, Bihar and Monuments. Kathmandu Valley owns many heritage built in different period of Nepal history. There are many beautiful sites around the valley like, Nagarkot, Phulchoki, Chandragiri, Chisapani, Kakani etc. and by visiting these beautiful places people may feel relief from their busy life of the city. These places might be good things for exploring, hiking, cycling, sight seeing and friends gathering. The vibes that flows in those hills do not have any comparable existence
As inhabitant of the Kathmandu Valley, I have my busy life due to study and just like me, all the resident have same busy and rushy life due their own career. To get refreshed from everyday busy life, me and Wondervibes team planned to explore the surrounding of The Kathmandu Valley. As we already get the sense of avoidance from devils tasks from Champadevi hiking our next hiking took place on Jamacho Gumba which is situated at top of the Nagarjuna hills.
Nagarjuna Hills is a part of Shivapuri National Park and it is very close and surrounding hills of Kathmandu Valley. Jamacho Gumba lies above 2000m from sea level and has 2079m of altitude located at northwest part of Kathmandu Valley.

We three members of Wondervibes were hanging inside the valley and talking about our next hiking destination as we have already decided to go for hike every Saturday. After a discussion we made a plan to go Jamacho for hiking.
On May 6, 2017, We three met at Machhapokhari around 10 am in the morning then we purchased some dry foods, fruits and bottles of water. Then, we took 15 minutes walk along Pasang Lahmu Highway to Phulbari gate where we bought tickets to enter the Nagarjuna hills. After entering in Nagarjuna forest at 10:15 AM we headed up-slope. The maximum part of the hiking route was paved with the stone. We were welcomed by the mellifluous voice of birds and insects as we entered Nagarjuna forest. We kept walking on the well structured endless staircase of paved stone. After walking about 1KM above from Phulbari there was another army check point and where we entered our names and contact number and we again started walking. After walking an enjoyable hiking route made of stone paved and red mud for about half and hour we reached at a beautiful and flat grassland. There were many antique looking scattered stones where we took rest some time and ate some of our foods taken with us. An elderly aged looking french couple were returning from Jamacho Gumba and we had some chat with them which is one of the good experience of this hike. After waving good bye to them we again stared our hike towards the destination which was already visible from the grassy flat ground. After walking the same beautiful staircase route for about an hour we reached our destination, Jamacho Gumba around 1:00 PM

In Jamacho Gumba, there was an attractive Stupa and couple of houses which was looking gorgeous and colorful because of the decoding Buddhist prayers flag all over the area. More than just a temple worshiping location we found Jamacho a fantastic place to see the majestic view of Kathmandu valley. After reaching Jamacho we took some rest, shared our remaining food sitting at the view tower and took some photos of fabulous scene of Kathmandu. Later on, while visiting around the gumba there was some mulberry trees and we enjoyed eating it. After a while we again hike down to the hill towards the same route and reached Machhapokhari. After reaching Machhapokhari we ate Momos as lunch came back to home.

In Jamacho Gumba hike overall we had lots of fun and enjoyment. As always we made the whole day full excitements and we will remember the day as one of the incredible moment of our lives.
